Patients receiving care through the Eliance Preferred Network have access to a variety of gastroenterology programs and services.

One of the key services patients are encouraged to pursue is a colon cancer screening. This preventive screening is typically available for individuals between the ages of 45-75 although younger patients may be eligible depending on their lifestyle and risk factors. Eligible patients receive reminders about the screening through their primary care provider and through a special birthday text message program.

Colon cancer screening options include:
  • Colonoscopies
  • FIT tests
  • Stool DNA tests
Patients are encouraged to discuss the various screening options with their provider to determine the best test based upon their medical history. Once a screening method has been identified, the staff works with individuals to provide a seamless experience by offering convenient screening times and premade colonoscopy kits for minimal disruption. Screenings are administered at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital or an outpatient treatment center depending on the patient’s medical history and type of test selected.
